East Marshall snaps 14-game losing streak to Rebels
REINBECK — Three players scored in double figures as the East Marshall boys’ basketball team beat Gladbrook-Reinbeck for the first time in eight seasons, winning 78-49 in the Tuesday, Dec. 2, season opener for both teams.
The Mustangs claimed the NICL West win to top the Rebels for the first time since sweeping them in 2017-18, ending a 14-game losing skid in the series.
Blake Neuroth poured in 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting to lead East Marshall, going 4-for-4 from 3-point range. Cody Weaver got 16 points and Jackson Bidwell finished with 14, also making four 3-pointers. Jackson Busch, Dallas Miller and Kael Koch contributed seven points apiece in the win.
Trevor Mathern scored a game-high 21 points to go with 12 rebounds to lead the Rebels. Hudson Clark added 11 points and six boards.
