CEDAR FALLS — The GMG boys’ basketball team opened the season with a 58-14 victory over Valley Lutheran in the Tuesday, Dec. 2, Iowa Star Conference contest.

The Wolverines held the host Crusaders to six points or fewer in all four quarters, highlighted by a 12-0 advantage in the opening period.

Rider Kupka scored a game-high 13 points to lead GMG, while Ethan Klemesrud finished with 12 and Jacoby Woodbury 10. Easton Sash chipped in with eight points off the bench.

Jason Neifer led Valley Lutheran with six points and seven rebounds.
