No. 4 Rebels rough up Mustang girls, 72-10

REINBECK — Preseason-ranked Gladbrook-Reinbeck roughed up the East Marshall girls’ basketball team to the tune of a 72-10 setback in the Tuesday, Dec. 2, NICL West Division opener.

The visiting Mustangs (2-1, 0-1) fell behind 18-2 after the opening quarter and trailed 45-7 at the half.

Sydney Hull had four points and eight rebounds while Alivia Neuroth had four points and five boards to lead East Marshall in defeat. Mya Gould added two points, but the Mustangs couldn’t overcome the fourth-ranked Rebels (1-0, 1-0).

G-R was led by Kennedy Brant with 23 points and 15 rebounds, while Elly Sieh had 20 points and 10 boards. Natalie Witt chipped in nine points off the bench for the Rebels in their season debut.
