Rebels drop first meet of the year to the J-Hawks

On a sunny, but breezy day at Oakleaf the Rebel golf season began. Although the Rebels were defeated 160-175, there were some bright spots. We are looking to find a consistent top six that can replace veterans Logan Petersen and Taylor Harris.

Leading the Rebels was Kevin Trobaugh with a 40. Jacob Smoldt shot a round of 42, followed by Brady Billerbeck with a 46 , and Parker Bolt with a 47. Each golfer had a hole that they wish they could play again, but this was a learning experience and we will move on from here. Jesup is a very solid team that will be very successful in the NICL East this year.

Rebels defeat Comets and Wolverines

On Tuesday, April 3, the Rebels hosted BCLUW and GMG for a triangular. The sun was out and it got breezy at times. The Rebels faced off against a veteran Comet team and a young Wolverine team.

The Rebels shot a 163, BCLUW 168, and GMG 208. Kevin Trobaugh was runner up medalist with a 38. He lost in a card back by shooting a 6 on hole 5, where Chad Frazer shot a 5. Following Kevin was Brady Billerbeck with a 40, Jacob Smoldt 42, and Cobren Bird shot his personal best of 43.

We will meet BCLUW again at conference and it should be a great battle. Both teams played really well for this early in the season.

The JV was led by Logan Koester with a 48. Luke Holman shot a 51, Bryce Ehlers 53, and Matt Van Hauen 54. Three of these four boys are freshmen and have a chance to make an impact in the future if they continue to improve weekly.
