REINBECK – Gladbrook-Reinbeck’s Kennedy Brant was recently named to the 2023-24 Times-Republican All-Area Girls Basketball Teams as a first team selection.

The sophomore forward averaged 13.3 points and 12.2 rebounds per game for the Rebels this season. She was the team’s leader in rebounds (305), assists (80), steals (64), and blocks (52).

Two of Brant’s teammates were also T-R All-Area selections including sophomore guard Elly Sieh who was a second team selection and junior forward Lily Dripps who was a third team pick. Sieh led the Rebels in points with 342.

The Rebels ended the 2023-24 season 15-10 (4-4) and third in the North Iowa Cedar-West just behind Grundy Center in first and AGWSR in second.

GMG All-Area selections

Two Green Mountain-Garwin players were also named to the 2023-24 T-R All-Area Girls Basketball Teams including senior forward Jocee Mason who was a second team selection and senior forward Reese Dieleman who was a third team pick. Mason led the Wolverines in total points this season with 275 and in rebounds with 192.

GMG ended the 2023-24 season 11-12 (6-6) and fourth in the Iowa Star South ahead of North Tama in fifth and just behind Meskwaki Settlement in third.
