Rebels top area teams at Hudson quad

WATERLOO – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys golf team triumphed over several area teams to take first on Friday, May 2, while competing at South Hills Golf Course in Waterloo in a quadrangular with host Hudson, Colo-NESCO/Collins-Maxwell, and North Tama.
After originally tying with Hudson with a team total of 170, the Rebels’ fifth score won the meet. North Tama was third with 187 followed by Colo-NESCO/Collins-Maxwell in fourth with 196.
Sophomore Brayden Utter paced G-R with a round of 41, defeating Hudson’s Blake Delagardelle in the cardback for runner-up medalist. Hudson freshman Tripp Thomposon was the meet medalist with 38.
There was a five-way tie for fifth place including Rebels Austen Mathern, Anthony Knaack, Cole Fleshner, and Michael Boyd who all shot 43 alongside North Tama’s Cayd Cooper.
