Thesing, Schneider lead Rebel golfers against Cyclones

REINBECK – On Thursday, April 23, the Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls and boys golf teams hosted the Denver Cyclones in an NICL dual meet at Oakleaf Country Club.

In windy conditions, the varsity boys defeated the Cyclones 169-176. The Rebels had the first-place medalist, freshman Laken Thesing, with a 40. Junior Brayden Utter recorded G-R’s second-highest finish with a 41.

The JV boys were also in action, finishing behind the JV Cyclones 206-225. G-R’s top JV finishers were freshman Brayton Dripps with a PR of 45 and sophomore Kooper Larsen with a 58.

Against the Cyclones, the Rebel girls posted their best team score of the season, finishing with a 224 to Denver’s 217. Freshman Reese Schneider placed second overall with a 51, while Avery Boyer had the Rebels’ second-best score with a 54.

Reece Schneider, Amya Blohm, Addison Ross, and Kailey Larsen all recorded PRs against Denver.
