Third ranked Rebels edge D-NH at NICL shootout
WAVERLY – Camden Kickbush’s impressive return from a football injury continued Saturday as Gladbrook-Reinbeck’s senior point guard scored a career-high 27 points in leading the Class 1A No. 3 Rebels to a 67-64 win over Dike-New Hartford in the NICL Shootout at Wartburg College.
Kickbush made a trio of 3-pointers as well as 12 free throws, helping the Rebels improve to 9-0.
Zach Pierce piled on 19 points and a team-leading nine rebounds for the Rebels, who held off Dike-New Hartford’s fourth quarter comeback.
Calvin Wildeboer and Connor Neuroth led the Wolverines (7-3) with 13 points apiece. Ben Latusak had nine points and 12 rebounds, while Neuroth added eight assists before fouling out.
Gladbrook-Reinbeck hosts South Hardin in NICL West Division play Tuesday.
