“Rebels Fall Against Spartans” The seventh grade Rebels traveled to Grundy Center on Thursday, December 18 to take on the Spartans in a border battle game. Starting the game the Rebels and Spartans traded baskets as both teams were pushing the ball up the court. End of the period score saw the Rebels with a slim 9-8 lead. In the second quarter the size factor for the Spartans started to kick in as the Rebels had a tough time controlling the board. With a 21-18 deficit for the Rebels at half-time the bigger things were on the agenda for the second half. Court awareness at the Jr. High level can sometimes prove to either help or hinder, in our case it was unfortunately the latter. Defensive position led to some easy baskets for the Spartans and a 31-24 deficit at the end of the third quarter. With seven points to make up the Rebels hustled up and down the court with determination only to fall in the end with a 43-30 loss. Finding the scoring column are the following Rebels: •Aiden Wyatt-7 points •Tyler Tscherter-12 points •Cody Johnson-9 points •Collen Eiffler-2 points
