Thursday, Jan. 23, G-R 8th grade Boys Basketball played at Union (BCLUW), and we won the game 42- 12 now 7-3 on season. We played some excellent basketball as we got up at one time 38-4, every G-R player got some good playtime and we left feeling good about life. This was a true old fashioned team victory with a season high 7 players scoring: Gage Murty (played his best game of season), Caden Kickbush, Walker Thede all with 9 points each, followed by Matt Johannsen 5 pts, Mason Skovgard & Josh Peterson (played his best game of season) 4 pts each, Kyle Koppen 2 pts, and other players contributing just as importantly were Hunter Smoldt 3 rebounds, 1 steal, Owen Beach 2 rebounds, Will Blakesley and Joel Davis 1 rebound each to help secure this win. This game was followed by our 7th graders who won also, for a G-R Junior High program builder night. My hats off to 7th grade squad who now won 2 games in row, clearly the most improved 7th grade team around! Upcoming schedule is: Jan 27th home (Gladbrook) vs. W. Marshall, Jan 28th home (Gladbrook) vs. GMG, with a starting time of 4:15p.m. for 8th graders.
