Reinbeck American Red Cross blood drive

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. They don’t wear capes or special suits, and their badge of honor shows they gave the gift of life. Reinbeck American Legion Auxiliary is inviting you to become a hometown hero and answer the call for patients in need by donating blood on December 7, Thursday between 1:00 and 6:00 p.m. at the Reinbeck Memorial Building.

Donating blood is one of the simplest things a person can do to help save a patent’s life. For the hour it takes to give blood there could be a whole community of people thankful for another birthday given to their loved one.

When donors support blood services they are also helping to support disaster, education services to military and their families, disaster preparedness, etc. They are supporting the whole of Red Cross. We are always there for disaster, feeding and housing those in need, preparing the community for disasters, educating on CPR and first aid. The Red Cross will provide blood to all. They have a regional as well as national distribution and inventory system. They are able to keep the blood moving in that 42 days of its shelf life. When tragedies happen in the USA and a large amount of blood is needed, whether a hospital we supply or not, they are able to move blood from everywhere to those areas helping those in need. (Past examples-Boston Marathon, Hurricane areas, Las Vegas, Orlando etc.)
