Beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, all incoming 7th and 12th grade students across the state of Iowa will be required to have the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (A,C,W,Y).

Students entering 7th grade, born on or after September 15, 2004, will need proof of one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (A,C,W,Y). Students entering 12th grade, born on or after September 15, 1999, will need proof of two doses of meningococcal (A,C,W,Y) vaccine, and 1 of those doses must have been received on or after 16 years of age.

Only 1 dose of the vaccine is required for 12th graders if the vaccine was given when the student was 16 years of age or older.
