Parents of young children invited to lunch and learn
GRUNDY CENTER Parents of young children are invited to a free program titled “2,000 Days in the Life of Your Child” this Friday, October 24th in Grundy Center. The 45-minute presentation by the head of the Iowa Academy of Pediatrics is designed to give parents the information they need to impact their child’s well-being. “2,000 Days” is the approximate number of days from birth to the first day of kindergarten, and researchers increasingly focus on this period in a child’s life as having a lifetime impact on their ability to learn and their overall health.
The lunch and learn will be held at the Grundy Center Community Center, 705 F Avenue in Grundy Center, beginning at 11:30 a.m. A free light lunch will be provided to those who RSVP by Friday morning. Email erin.schildroth@unitypoint.org or phone 319-824-4147 to reserve a spot. Grandparents are also welcome.
The program will also include a brief presentation on ‘Healthy Food for Healthy Children’ by a registered dietitian.
The “2,000 Days in the Life of Your Child” presentation is sponsored by Grundy County Memorial Hospital and made possible in part with a Community Health Needs grant from the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
