GRUNDY CENTER Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) and UnityPoint Health St. Luke’s Hospital Lifeguard Air Ambulance will host a free CEU program for nurses, EMS personnel, firefighters, and law enforcement titled Helicopter Safety Orientation. The education will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 7:30 9:00 p.m. at the Grundy Center Municipal Airport.

Discussion topics are: lifeguard air ambulance history, helicopter specifics, trauma alert criteria, transport request considerations/process, landing area safety, approaching the helicopter safely and loading and unloading essentials.

This program has been approved for 2.0 hour formal CEH for EMS personnel or 0.18 CEU’s for nurses. Participants must attend the entire program to receive credit.
