GCMH explores interest in local Weight Watchers program
GRUNDY CENTER Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) is conducting an informal survey to measure interest in having a Weight Watchers Program in the Grundy Center area.
“The Community Health Needs Assessments the hospital conducted in our local communities demonstrated that there is a need for education on healthy weight management,” remarks Crystal Petersen, Food, Nutrition and Wellness Manager at GCMH. “Weight Watchers is a nationally recognized program that focuses on lifetime behavior changes, and has proven success.” Petersen says GCMH will provide meeting space to accommodate a local Weight Watchers program if enough participants indicate an interest. The program could begin as soon as mid-November.
A minimum of 15 people are needed to bring the weekly, one-hour meetings to Grundy Center. There is a cost for a 12-week session and 17-week session.
Please contact Brenda at Brenda.Schmidt@unitypoint.org or (319) 824-5085 if you are interested in participating in the program. Visit www.GrundyCountyHospital.org for more information on GCMH Services, or call (319) 824-5421.
