Lady Rebels beat Union to end regular season 13-9

Kennedy Brant notches 500th career point


GRUNDY CENTER — This past Monday, the Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls basketball team smoked the Union Knights 56-23 at home to finish out the regular season 13-9 (4-4) and third in the conference.

Sophomores Elly Sieh and Kennedy Brant – who notched her 500th career point against Union – led the team in the regular season with 277 and 271 points, respectively. Brant had 459 rebounds, 51 steals, and 48 blocks; Sieh had 87 rebounds, 47 steals, and 8 blocks.

Junior Lily Dripps also helped lead the defense with 127 rebounds and 18 steals.

As of Tuesday, Brant was currently fifth in Class 1A for defensive rebounds with 182.

On Thursday, the girls were set to take on Nashua-Plainfield (5-15) in a Class 1A Region 6 first round playoff in Reinbeck.
