G-R girls golf competes at NICL meet

WATERLOO — The Grundy Center girls golf team came out on top in the 15-team North Iowa Cedar League meet at Irv Warren Memorial Golf Course in Waterloo this past Monday.

The Spartans shot a 352, beating out Sumner-Fredericksburg (368) for the top spot. Sumner-Fredericksburg’s Chloe Bolte claimed individual champion honors with a 78, two strokes better than Grundy Center’s Abbie Lindeman.

Grundy Center’s top four all earned all-conference status as top-15 finishers, and all four were even in the top 10. Following Lindeman was Avery Dirks with an 89, Brylee Hoeg with a 91 and Leah Larson shooting a 92. Isabelle Ruth and Avery Knutsen shot 104 and 114, respectively, for non-counting scores.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck finished 13th with a 493 score, led by Lauren Boyer shooting a 111.

East Marshall was 15th with 539 strokes — Riley Anderson had a 131 to steer the Mustangs.
