AUGUST 18, 1977
Curtis Modlin, 29, Cedar Falls, was killed following a three vehicle accident at the railroad crossing on the Zaneta blacktop and three others were injured. Modlin’s motorcycle rammed into a pickup that had rear ended a car stopped at a railroad stop sign.
Construction is underway on a large 40×40 warehouse at the Farmers Coop.
Scott Lowe of Moeller & Walter, received a $1,500 award for a energy efficiency home design that could be constructed for under $45,000.
Vernon Klosterboer has been named postmaster in Lincoln.
Wayne Wheeler,66, died August 15 following a lengthy illness.
Mr. & Mrs, Scott Miller are parents of a son born August 12.
Albert Diercks, 82, died August 14 at Beverly Manor.

A barn fire on the Wendell Giesking farm southwest of Reinbeck destroyed a 45×60 building, several hogs, about 350 bales of straw, hay and an elevator.
Chicago Great Western Railroad to discontinue its agency service at Gladbrook. Gladbrook business will go thru the agency in Lincoln.
