Gladbrook Reinbeck school registration and mandatory annual notifications

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community School parents will receive “mail-in” registration information via the US Postal Service around July 25, 2017. This packet will include information and all the mandatory forms to register school-aged children. For the 2017-2017 school year, parents may register online, by mail, or in person during the “Walk-In” registration day.

Ways to Register:

(1) Mail In: Simply download, print and complete all the applicable forms and mail in along with a check, or pay on-line. All the forms are available on the G-R website at www.gladbrook-reinbeck.k12.ia.us. You will see the link for registration materials displayed prominently on the front page. If you do not have access to the website please call 319-345-2712, or stop by the district office and we will mail you a packet of the applicable materials.

(2) In Person: Stop in one of the attendance center offices on August 9, 2017. Bring completed forms or packets will be available to complete, if needed.

(3) Online: In an effort to simplify the registration of your child/children for the 2017-2018 school year, G-R is offering online registration through your JMC parent access. Just go to the G-R website at www.gladbrook-reinbeck.k12.ia.us. Click the “JMC Access” button under the “QuickLinks” column, log in to your JMC parent account and follow the registration instructions.

The process of updating contact and demographic information, as well as allow permission for internet, field trip, medications, etc. can all be done electronically within the JMC system to eliminate completing multiple paper forms.

You may be directed to a few forms that the school will require parents to print off, sign and return to the school prior to the registration deadline. These forms could include documents such as the free/reduced lunch forms (optional), laptop use forms (required for use) which you can email (to: registration@gr-rebels.net), mail or return to the school in person.

Parents taking advantage of the on-line and mail-in registration are asked to submit their materials prior to August 9, 2017. Walk-in registration will be held at each campus on August 9, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Families wishing to apply for free and reduced lunches are asked to have the application to the G-R Business Office at 600 Blackhawk St., Reinbeck, Iowa 50669, prior to registering August 9th. Registrations received after August 9th will be assessed a processing fee.

The on-line payment processing firm, PaySchools, is available to parents who wish to pay their fees electronically. The district is encouraging on-line and mail-in registration in order to alleviate congestion during walk-in registration.

Families new to the Gladbrook-Reinbeck school district are asked to call the school’s business office at (319) 345-2712 so registration information can be mailed to them.

On Tuesday, August 22, 2017, Gladbrook-Reinbeck Elementary and the G-R Junior High-High School buildings will be hosting open house from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Please take this opportunity to stop in and meet your child(ren)’s teacher(s), walk through their schedule, etc. This is a great time for parents and teachers to begin building a positive relationship for the year.

Ninth grade High School transition meeting will be held at the beginning of the JH-HS open house night on August 22, 2017. The meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. in the JH-HS Auditorium.

New student orientation and 5th – 12th Grade 1:1 Computer roll out will be held on the first day of school, August 23, 2017.
