Mrs. Lindenmeyer – new teacher
By Kristina O’Shea We have some great new additions to the G-R staff, and we are really excited to get to know them. One of these additions is Mrs. Heather Lindenmeyer. She is originally from Illinois and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English. For her bachelor’s, she also minored in journalism and secondary education. She originally wanted to be a reporter but decided to become a teacher because she enjoys seeing students improve and grow in some aspect over their high school career. She also likes helping students become better speakers, writers, and readers. Mrs. Lindenmeyer chose to teach at G-R because she is originally from a small town and likes the tight-knit community feel. It is also fairly close to where she lives in Cedar Falls. This year, she will be teaching English 9 and 10, speech, advanced composition, creative writing, American Literature, and independent reading. Outside of school, Mrs. Lindenmeyer enjoys blogging, running, and shopping! We are so happy to welcome her to our community and hope she has a great first year, followed by more years to come.
