By Waverly Robinett As the new year begins, not only do we have new students, but we also have new staff members, one of whom is our new Cedar Valley West coordinator, Mrs. Ascher. Originally from Aplington, Iowa, she attended the University of Northern Iowa. After graduating, she decided to then become a coordinator, assisting students and teachers with their career decisions and pathways. Mrs. Ascher says being a coordinator allows her to do her dream job full-time, by working with not only students but adults as well. Coordinating job shadows and professional development allows her to connect with so many people. It’s her favorite part of the job, getting to meet new people whom she otherwise would have never met. Mrs. Ascher said she’s very excited to get all the juniors and seniors involved in future career paths. Outside of work, though, she’s just a regular person. With two little ones, she enjoys running them around to their activities, as well as reading, working out, and going to football games.
