Auditions are completed and the 09 Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School Jazz Show is getting ready for its presentation. The show will run Friday, Feb. 27 beginning at 7:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, March 1 beginning at 2:00 p.m. The GR Jazz Band will play two sets of jazz music and the Swing Choir will present a medley from “Mama Mia” as well as take you back to the music of the 80’s with “Awesome 80’s.” Solo vocalists for the show will be: Austin Ditty, Sarah Draffen, Caleb Heithoff. Kim Ditty and Rachael Cheeseman. Ensemble performances will be presented by: Tessa Dinsdale, Rebekah Zimmerman and Sonya Beichley; Alyssa Medhus, Kassie Walton, Geonna Linder, Casey McDonough and Sarah Draffen; and Kassie Walton and Sarah Draffen. A GR version of “American Idol” will be presented by Holley Wulf, Rebekah Zimmerman, Alex Holbach and friends. Two dances will be featured; a ballet selection by Keisha Smith and a routine by our GR Cheerleaders. Featured instrumentalists will be: Jessica Roeding and Angela Wrage each playing a piano solo; and a trumpet duet of Hannah Bassett and Angela Wrage. A drum line performance is also expected.

Tickets will be on sale at GRHS beginning Feb. 23. Please stop in the high school office to purchase your reserved seating tickets after 9:00 a.m. The office is very busy with students until then so your cooperation will be appreciated. Tickets will also be available at the door performances. All proceeds go into the music student activity fund.
