GMG Secondary Activity Boosters invite community to inaugural golf outing
GARWIN – After recently reorganizing as a nonprofit organization, the GMG Secondary Activity Boosters have quickly become an active force in supporting students throughout the district.
The club’s mission is simple: Supporting Students. Strengthening Our Community.
The newly reestablished GMG Secondary Activity Boosters Club is inviting community members, businesses, alumni, and supporters to tee off for a great cause at its 1st Annual Golf Outing next Saturday, Aug. 22, at Oakwood Golf Course in Conrad.
The event is more than just a day on the golf course, it’s an opportunity to invest in the students of Green Mountain-Garwin and help strengthen extracurricular opportunities for students in grades 7-12.
Registration begins at 9 a.m., with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Four-person teams can participate for $200 per team, with 18 holes of golf, a best-shot format, and carts available upon request.
More Than Athletics-Supporting Student Success
Funds raised by the organization help provide opportunities for students involved in athletics, clubs, fine arts, music, academic organizations, and other extracurricular activities that enrich the educational experience.
Since restarting the organization earlier this year, the Boosters have already organized several successful fundraising efforts, including operating concessions at Music in the Park in Garwin, and concessions at the Tama County Fair. Every dollar raised goes back toward creating opportunities for GMG students and helping programs continue to grow.
Local Businesses Can Make an Immediate Impact
Area businesses also have the opportunity to become part of the event by sponsoring a hole during the tournament. For just $100, sponsors will receive recognition on one of the nine golf holes and demonstrate their commitment to local students and the community. Community involvement remains at the heart of the Booster Club’s mission. Every membership, sponsorship, volunteer hour, and donation helps create memorable experiences and lasting opportunities for GMG students.
Register Today!
Golfers of every skill level are encouraged to participate. Whether competing to win or simply enjoying a day on the course with friends, every team helps make a difference for GMG students.
