HUDSON – Thursday night, April 16, the Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys track and field team competed at the Hudson Relays and were able to post 10 new personal records. The highlight of the meet was some performances out of our distance runners plus a few of our throwers. Some of these athletes competed with heart and passion for the sport of track and field – hopefully this becomes contagious.
Our highest finish was clocked by freshman Caleb Pifkin who earned silver in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10 minutes, 54.89 seconds.
The important things that we will need to continue to work on are warming up, hand-offs, being mentally ready, and cooling down and stretching after a performance. This will help us reach team goals and personal goals which each athlete on the team has this season.
This sport can be extremely nervewracking, and I tip my hat to these guys for accepting this challenge. We will continue to do the work that is needed to put a product out there that the G-R Rebels’ school and communities can be proud of.

This past Tuesday we ran at BGM where hopefully we improved and continued to work on getting better. We have about [three] weeks left in the season and it’s time to start making a push to finish strong! Big thanks to everybody who donated Gatorade/water and bananas at this Hudson meet!
