CONRAD – Senior Rider Kupka led GMG to a 54-39 conference road win over the BCLUW Comets on Friday, Feb. 6, by scoring exactly half of his team’s points to join the coveted 1,000 career points club. The last Wolverine to make it to 1,000 was then-senior Jabari Woodbury during the 2023-24 season. Prior to Woodbury, it had been nearly three decades since any GMG basketball player made it to four digits. Against the Comets on Feb. 6, Kupka scored 27 points and went 3-for-3 from the deep. He also helped lead the Wolverine defense with four rebounds, three steals, and one block. As of press time, Kupka led his team in points (354), rebounds (112), assists (76), and steals (60). Across the Iowa Star-South, he was No. 2 in steals, No. 3 in assists, No. 4 in total points scored, and tied for fourth in 3-pointers made.
