GARWIN – Last Friday afternoon in the high school gymnasium in Garwin, Green Mountain-Garwin senior Slate Witte signed his letter of intent to continue his academic and football careers next year with the Coe College Kohawks in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Witte, who will play running back for Coe, led the Wolverines this season in both passing and rushing yardage. He threw for 21 touchdowns and ran for another 13 while also notching 15 two-point conversions.

At Coe, Witte plans to major in kinesiology.

Those in attendance for Hunt’s signing on Friday included his dad Justin Witte. His mother Deanna Witte and 27 siblings were unable to attend.

The Kohawks’ first game of the 2024-25 season is a home match-up with the Cornell Rams – part of the Bremner Cup series – set for Saturday, Sept. 7, at Clark Field in Cedar Rapids. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
