GARWIN – Last Friday afternoon in the high school gymnasium in Garwin, Green Mountain-Garwin senior Alice Hunt signed her letter of intent to continue her academic, vocal music, and cheerleading careers next year with the Cornell College Rams in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

“Cornell reached out [to me] for cheering first and then I learned about the music scholarship,” Hunt told the newspaper while queuing for her signing ceremony. “I went up and met the team and they were so friendly and nice. After all the scholarship opportunities, it was an easy decision to make.”

At Cornell, Hunt will receive both a vocal music scholarship and an academic scholarship. As a member of the cheerleading team, she will cheer for all home football and basketball games. Hunt plans to major in education or business management with a minor in music.

Those in attendance for Hunt’s signing included (front row, left and right) her parents Joe Hunt and Rebecca Reinsch, and her maternal grandparents (back row, l-r) Gerald and Flora Reinsch.

CONGRATULATIONS, Alice, from all of us at Tama-Grundy Publishing!
