MAXWELL — The Green Mountain-Garwin track and field teams competed at the Iowa Star Co-Ed Conference Meet last Thursday, May 2, bringing home several scoring finishes.

Sophomore Makayla Pendleton led the Wolverine girls with a runner-up finish in the discus, while on the boys’ side, senior Jabari Woodbury was the big point-scorer for GMG placing second in the 400-meter dash, third in the 200-meter dash, and anchoring the second-place sprint medley relay team alongside teammates Colin Teske, Grady Dieleman and Slate Witte.

Woodbury also anchored the fourth-place 4×100 quartet, teaming up with Witte, Landon Stonewall and Teske.

Rebel sophomore Jay Bessman added a bronze medal in the boys discus throw.

GMG girls tied for 12th with 17 points and the boys took eighth with 48 points.

BCLUW girls won the team title with 136 points, while Baxter earned the boys’ championship with 135 points.
