The Rebels, still undefeated, prepared to take on conference rival Grundy Center, Tuesday the 11th. Things started out well for the Rebels, and they had already doubled the Spartans score in the first quarter (22-11). The boy’s aggressiveness enabled them to pull down 31 one rebounds as a team. The leaders in rebounding for the night were Jackson Clark (5), Chase Clark (5), and Jacob Smoldt who had four on the night. Rebounding was key for the Rebels in allowing them to get second chance buckets.

The Rebel’s were also cashing in from three-point range tonight, where they shot 50%. Three-point shooting is key to the Rebel’s offense, because it forces the defense to spread out. When the defense spreads out, the posts players are able to get open for easy baskets. Leading the Rebels for three-pointers was Jacob Smoldt (4), Camden Kickbush (3), Logan Koester (3), and Dustin Dinsdale (2). One of Logan Koester’s three-pointers was a little bit deeper than most, considering the fact that it was nearly a half court buzzer beater to end the first half of action. Making shots like that one really gets the crowd into the game, especially in a lopsided game like this Tuesday’s game against the Grundy Center Spartans.

The Rebels had four players score in the double digits. They were Camden Kickbush (15), Jacob Smoldt (14), Zach Pierce (12), and Logan Koester (11). Zach Pierce leads the Rebels with 19.5 points per game, and is always there to make a play when the Rebels need it. Another statistic, that is in double digits, is the amount of assists that Camden Kickbush holds. As the point guard, Kickbush has been able to bring the ball up the court and distribute exceptionally well to his teammates. The Rebels have been working hard in practice and will take on conference foe West Marshall on Friday the 14th.
