A baby, A baby!Yes, it was a baby that changed the world. Not just any baby but God’s son. We al know that when a baby is born the entire world turns upside down for the parents and siblings. When God’s son was born it turned the world upside down for everyone. Thinking back to that first Christmas, one of the questions that is almost always asked is, “How shall I receive the Christ child?” This is the same questions that people have asked for years and although many people have answered the question I think it is very individualistic for each of us. The animals in the stable welcomed the child with their bawls, brays, baas. Providing warmth, they stayed by his side. The shepherds watched as they stood in awe at the sight in front of them, while the wisemen began their journey. Each one of us is invited to start the new year in awe, or journeying but we have to make a choice. A choice to follow the Christ Child among us OR the world’s view. Seems to me that a few thousand years later we are faced with the same choice as the people in Jesus’ day. In our choice we need to nurture our journey with people that will encourage us to be the best we can be, spend time reading scripture and embracing a small act of kindness each day. Jesus did just that, even as a child. Jesus was committed to follow the teachings of his Father and would love to see us do the same. May 2020 be a year for you to follow the star to the place of the child and then live each day following in His example. Merry Christmas and HAPPY biblical following. Just a little update…In the Gladbrook/Lincoln communities we served 12 family food baskets and 4 Sr. baskets from local churches. THANK YOU to all who support the Food Pantry, not only throughout the Christmas Season but ALL YEAR LONG! Blessings for your giving in the Spirit of Christmas all year long.
