Jason Appel, 31, Grundy Center, was arrested after he struck and killed Barbara Dellit, 57, in a hit and run incident on Oct. 16 in Grundy Center.

A shooting incident is being investigated when Joshua Wohlman,19, a sophomore at Wm. Penn University of Oskaloosa, died at a party south of Garwin. Tama Co. Sheriff’s Dept. are investigating the incident.

Kyle Plaehn, 18, Lincoln, was injured when he was pulling a grain auger and the tractor tipped over. He was airlifted to Covenant with multiple injuries.

Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert Niedermann will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house on Oct. 28 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Michele Andersen & Waylon Bern will be married Dec. 16 at Fredsville Church near Cedar Falls.

Dan VanHeiden & Traci VanDyke are parents of a son born Oct. 11.

Bernice McGowan, 88, Reinbeck, died Oct. 10 at Parkview Manor.

Gladys Feltz, 88, Gladbrook, died Sept. 27 at the Grundy Co. Hospital.

Virginia Lucken, 90, Grundy Center died Oct. 13 at the Grundy Care Center.

Marian Hansen, 82, Dike, died Oct. 12 at her home.

Dave Grunklee was awarded the Iowa Vocational Association Outstanding Young Educator Award.

Herman Wiese, 74, Grundy Center, died Oct. 21.

OCT. 27, 1966

65 baby pigs were lost in a fire that destroyed a hog house on the Wier Uhlenberg farm east of Reinbeck.

Jim Burdick has accepted a position as an Aircraft mechanic with Western Air Lines.

Fire destroyed two chicken houses at the Kenneth Barnes residence. They were empty at the time of the fire.

Theodore Meyer has been awarded a Black & Vestch Scholarship for $500. at Iowa State University where he is a freshman in Civil Engineering.

Mr. & Mrs. Robert Lonergan celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on Oct. 20.

J. Clyde Smith, 80, Grundy Center, died Oct. 21.

Rev. & Mrs. Harold Brockhus are parents of a son born Oct. 13.
