FACT: Tama county and many others our size and larger operate efficiently with a 3 person BOS.

FACT: The only reason we have a 5 person BOS right now is because TCAT wasn’t getting their way. Richard Arp can be quoted “We worked very hard to get a pro TCAT anti wind board elected.”

FACT: This 5 person BOS only has 3 that are participating in discussion and decision making now. We effectively have a 3 person BOS but we’re paying for 5.

FACT: 3 of 5 have said that a three person BOS is workable.

FACT: This BOS has replaced neutral BOA and zoning board members with TCAT members. This move alone has cost the county hundreds of thousands in legal fees, jeopardized millions in tax revenues and chased away millions more in tax revenue generating businesses in an effort to restrict private property rights.

4. Wells Ag – most recently proposed independent agriculture product supplier desiring to build a multi million dollar retail location by Buckingham, they were sent packing.

FACT: Tama County Economic Development, which successfully returned $3 to every $1 spent, was subbed out to the Marshalltown Chamber of Commerce. We now pay Marshalltown to oversee economic development in Tama County, as if they have our best interests in mind.

FACT: In the middle of all of this, the BOS gives themselves a 3% raise, despite adding two positions the year before that cost taxpayers $150-175k annually.

FACT: The majority of opposition to this initiative are the 5 BOS members (who are at risk of losing their payday) and TCAT members (who are at risk of losing their stranglehold on taxpayers and your property).
