Before Judge Lars G. Anderson in Tama County District Court in Toledo:

Jeffrey Michael Hurn, 35, Toledo, entered a guilty plea to a charge of assault causing bodily injury. He received a suspended 90 day jail sentence and was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. He was fined and assessed court costs totaling $525. Hurn was originally charged on Sept. 8, 2019, in the 100 block of West Grace street with domestic abuse assault- injury or mental illness by Toledo Police Officer Shawncey Dey. Ricky Jo Sanchez, 37, Traer, received a deferred judgment on charges of gathering where controlled substances are used- methamphetamine and child endangerment. She was placed on supervised probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services for two years and to pay the enrollment fee. Payment of civil penalties totaling $1,375 were suspend eland court costs of $100 were assessed. Sanchez was charged on May 15, 2019, after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 600 block of 1st Street, Traer. Tama County Deputy Sheriff Nathan Wunn filed the charges.

Before Judge Mitchell E. Turner: Scott Christopher Kirk, 35, Van Horne, Iowa,, entered a written guilty plea to a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. He received a suspended 30-day jail sentence and was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. A fine and court costs totaling $560 were assessed. Kirk was charged on Sept. 1, 2019, at the Tama County Jail in Toledo by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Delta Anderson. Juan Michael Fonseca, 41, Tama, entered a written guilty plea to 1st offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail with all but two days suspended and credited for any time already served. He may complete the OWI Weekend Program in lieu of serving the jail time. A fine and court costs totaling $1,798 were assessed and he was as placed on unsupervised probation for one year. Fonseca was charged on Sept. 15, 2019, in the Kwik Star store parking lot on Business Highway 30 west by Toledo Police Officer Kyle Howe.
