Amanda Jacqueline Collins, 31, Tama, admitted violation of terms of probation and was found in contempt of court in three cases. She was sentenced to 60 day jail terms to be served concurrently and given credit for any time already served. Upon completion of the sentence Collins is to be returned to the Hinzman Residential Center. Her probation was extended to June 1, 2021 and she is to pay a total of $30 for court-appointed attorney fees. A probation violation probation states Collins signed out of a residential facility and failed to return and was put on escape status on June 4; did not complete her assigned residential house jobs on seven occasions; and failed to attend a required appointment on Jan. 12. Collins was ordered to residential placement on June 1, 2017, on two sentences for 3rd degree burglary and a sentence for 2nd degree theft. She was initially charged by Tama Police for taking stolen rings to a Marshalltown pawn shop. Troy Matthew Beckman, 40,Toledo, pleaded guilty to eluding. He received a suspended two year prison sentence and was placed on probation for two years to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services. He will be placed in a community correctional facility for up to one year. A $625 fine was suspended and court costs totaling $195 were assessed. Beckman was charged on May 9 or speeding 25 mph from a pursuing Toledo police vehicle and then fleeing on foot. The charge was filed by Officer Kyle Howe. Christina Renee Cunningham, 29, Des Moines, entered a written guilty plea to possession of methamphetamine. She was sentenced to 90 days in jial, credited for any tiem served and ordered released from custody. A fine and court cost totaling $555 were assessed and she was placed on informal probation. She was billed $1,600 for 32 days Tama County jail costs. Cunningham was charged on June 4 at a location not noted in court records by Meskwakii Nation Tribal Police Officer Ethan Richter. Jason Edward Skala, 46, rural Toledo, entered a written guilty pea to domestic abuse assault. He was sentenced to 90 days in jial with all but two days suspended and crdited for any time already served and fined and assessed court costs totaling $667. He was directed to complete the Iowa Domestic Abuse Program. A no contact order with the protected party was issued. Skala was charged on June 10 for allegedly choking the victim and throwing an object causing a facial injury. the charge was filed at a rural Toledo residence by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Trevor Killian. Justin Lee Anderson, 24, Tama, entered a written guilty plea ot 2nd offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to 180 days in jial with all but seven days suspended, fined and assessed court costs totaling $2,641 and placed on probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services for two years. He was also directed to complete a 12-hour drinking drivers course. Anderson was charged on May 26 at U.S. Highway 63 and Myrtle street, Toledo, by Tama Police officer Neil Frizzell. Ryan Jason Papakee, 46, rural Tama, admitted violation of terms of probation and was found in contempt of court on two sentences. He was sentenced to serve 45 days in jail and credited for 31 days already served. He was directed to return to the Lary Nelson Community Corrections Center upon compeltion of the jail time. he was directed to pay $60 for court-appointed attorney fees. Papakee was accused in a probation violation report of consuming lacohol on two occasions when a resident at the Lary Nelson Center. His original sentences resulting in residential placement were for assault causing serious injury and willful injury causing bodily injury. Heather Lynne Cole, 42, Ottumwa, pleaded guilty to three counts of forgery. She was sentenced to two five-year prison terms to be be served concurrently and a five-year temr ot be served consecutively totaling 10 years. in addition the sentences are to be served concurrently with a pair of sentences she received in Marshall County. Fines of $750 in each case were suspended by the court “to better enable the Defendant to pay victim restitution.” She was assessed $195 court costs. She was ordered to pay restitution to Jiffy North, Toledo. Cole was charged on Oct. 24, 2017, for writing checks in the amount of $82 on the account of a deceased person for which the account had been closed. Toledo Police Officer Andrea Young filed the initial charge. A County Attorney’s information charged Cole with two additional counts of forgery- habitual offender and one count of 3rd degree theft. Court records show Cole received deferred judgments in Polk Count involving lottery ticket theft or forgery and forgery as a felon.
