The Gladbrook City Council held their regular monthly meeting on August 8, 2016 at 7:00 PM. Following the approval of the consent agenda, there was discussion on removal and treatment of berm trees. Res. 17-12 was approved to amend 16-69 transferring local option sales tax revenue. Mike Bearden gave an update on the Wolf Creek Trail, stating they are done paving and it should be open by next week aside from the fencing. Claims were approved to Goos Implement, Gladbrook Auto, Gladbrook Tire, and Clapsaddle-Garber. There was an update given on the lagoon project, and it is currently at a stand still until rock comes in. Claims were approved to French-Reneker, Ricklefs Excavating, and Hatch Grading & Contracting. The council authorized Mayor Sash to negotiate and purchase land to keep the project moving along. Mike Bearden updated the council on the Grand Street Bridge project. It will take 45 working days, and they should be done the first week in October. In public works, Mark Lowry discussed purchasing surveillance equipment due to dumping incidents. The DNR will be visiting on August 16 to verify a new well location. The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 PM, and the council’s next regular meeting will take place on September 12 at 7:00 PM.
