In other business a resolution was passed to change the Federal functional classification of roads in the city of Tama. Only major collector roads under the Tama County Federal Functional Classification map are eligible for federal financial assistance. Fifth Street in Tama is listed as a major collector from Jackson Street to Business 30 The City of Tama has changed the truck route to 5th Street starting at US 63 and stopping at Business US 30, so the 3rd Street and Jackson Street alignment is no longer the truck route. The City of Tama has requested a Federal Functional Classification map change to the IDOT so that major collector classification match the truck route. The Tama County Board of Supervisors voted to delete the major collector classification from Third Street from US Highway 63 to Jackson Street and Jackson Street from 3d Street to 5th Street. This change will follow the City of Tama truck route. A hearing was held to discuss the Chamber Bridge. Two such meetings are required for public input before work can start on an historical bridge. One hearing was held a year ago in April and today. No one showed up for the hearing so plans will progress on Chamber Bridge. Two utility permits were approved for Poweshiek water in Perry and Grant Townships. Claims for $77,877.25 were approved
