REINBECK – The 15th annual Reinbeck Art Festival will transform downtown Reinbeck into a celebration of art, music, and family fun on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The festival’s centerpiece, Artists on Main, will be held at Reinbeck City Hall, 403 Main Street, where visitors can browse and purchase original artwork while meeting more than 30 talented artists. Featured artists include David Norman, Jan Drake, G-R High School students, Terry Dirks, Joe Doylan, Monica Kruise, Marion Boyer, Larry Kilmore, Kathy Etringer, Alyssa Thomas, Richard Baucher, Andy Mills, Cheri Nelson, Susan Cunningham, Kristen Warrk, Jennifer Gayer, Bill Atkins, Megan Zachew, Olivia Baker, Allie Jo Baker, Alexa Johnson, Harold Stoney, and Christie Bolin.

Festivalgoers will also enjoy demonstrations and specialty attractions throughout downtown. Nationally known Reinbeck artist Chuck Freitag will demonstrate his painting techniques while displaying original artwork. Additional attractions include airbrush tattoos by Kelen Panec, silhouette portraits by Nancy Barsic, balloon creations by Jessica Thede, wine from Backyard Vines, fresh popcorn by Angie Buffington, and the CEC Community Artists’ “Now and Then” exhibit.

Families will find activities around every corner. The Reinbeck Public Library on Clark Street will host children’s art activities from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., while additional kids’ activities will be available on Main Street throughout the day.

Vehicle enthusiasts can stroll through the popular Car Show featuring classic and antique cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles displayed along Main and Broad Streets. There is no registration fee, and participants will be entered into a drawing for door prizes.

Visitors can also tour the Quilt Show at the United Church of Christ on Broad Street and enjoy live entertainment throughout the day. Adalynn Budke performs from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., followed by Beauty and the Beat from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. G-R students taking the stage from 2-3 p.m.

Other festival highlights include a welcome booth, PowerPoint displays of G-R student artwork, downtown dining specials, and shopping opportunities throughout the community.

Make a full day of your visit by stopping at the Reinbeck Farmers Market on Broad Street from 9 a.m. to noon, then return in the evening for Movie on Main at dusk.

Admission is free, making the Reinbeck Art Festival a wonderful opportunity to experience local talent, support artists, enjoy live entertainment, and celebrate the spirit of the Reinbeck community.
