GMG’s Tavin Coleman selected for Statewide Broadband Council

DES MOINES – Iowa Communications Network (ICN) has selected a group of Iowa high school students to participate in the Statewide Youth Broadband Advisory Council (SYBAC) including GMG’s Tavin Coleman. The council is an opportunity for high school students to research and discuss Internet topics, learn about Iowa technology companies, learn about coding, and complete a cybersecurity certification training

Throughout the school year, the students will meet with ICN personnel, complete a cybersecurity community service project, and hear directly from leaders from Iowa technology companies. Last year’s students discussed a range of topics including broadband in schools, cybersecurity, automated transportation, telehealth, and wireless technology.

The following students were selected to ICN’s SYBAC for the 2024-2025 school year:
