REINBECK – Barely a month into summer vacation it’s already that time again – time to start thinking about heading back to the classroom for the 2024-25 school year.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community School parents will receive ‘mail-in’ registration information for the upcoming school year via the U.S. Postal Service around July 15, 2024. This packet will include information on how to register school-aged children. For the 2024-2025 school year, parents may register online, by mail, or in person during the “Walk-In” registration day.

Ways to Register

(1) Online: In an effort to simplify the registration of your child/children for the 2024-2025 school year, G-R is encouraging online registration through your JMC parent access. Just go to the G-R website at “http://www.gladbrook-reinbeck.k12.ia.us”>www.gladbrook-reinbeck.k12.ia.us. Click the “Menu” button in the upper right corner of the home page, and then click on “Registration” and “JMC Online Registration.” Log in to your JMC parent account and follow the registration instructions.

The process of updating contact and demographic information, allowing permission for internet, field trips, medications, etc. can all be done electronically within the JMC system to eliminate completing multiple paper forms.

You may be directed to a few forms that the school will request parents to print off, sign and return to the school prior to the Registration Deadline. These forms may include documents such as the free/reduced lunch forms and Athletic Pre-Participation forms (optional).

(2) Mail In: Download, print and complete all the applicable forms and mail in along with a check, or pay online. All the forms are available on the G-R website at www.gladbrook-reinbeck.k12.ia.us. You will see the link for registration materials displayed prominently on the front page. If you do not have access to the website please call 319-345-2712, or stop by the district office and we will provide you with a packet of the applicable materials.

(3) In Person: Come to the G-R JH/HS Commons on August 14, 2024 between the hours of noon and 6 p.m. All walk-in registrations will be processed at the JH/HS for 2024-25. JH/HS and elementary families are asked to bring completed forms, or packets will be available to complete if needed. PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY THE G-R JH/HS WILL BE OPEN DURING WALK-IN REGISTRATION.

Nutrition, payments, open houses, orientation, and more

Parents taking advantage of the online and mail-in registration are asked to submit their materials prior to August 14, 2024. Families wishing to apply for free and reduced lunches are asked to have the application to the G-R Business Office at 600 Blackhawk St, Reinbeck, Iowa 50669, prior to registering August 14. Registrations received after August 14 will be assessed a $25 processing fee.

The JMC online payment processing service is available to parents who wish to pay their fees electronically. The district is encouraging online and mail-in registration in order to alleviate congestion during walk-in registration.

Families new to the Gladbrook-Reinbeck school district are asked to call the school’s Business Office at (319) 345-2712 so registration information can be mailed to them.

On Monday, August 22, 2024, Gladbrook-Reinbeck Elementary and the G-R Junior High/High School buildings will be hosting Open House from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Please take this opportunity to stop in and meet G-R’s Superintendent, Mr. Caleb Bonjour, your child(ren)’s teacher(s), walk through their schedule, etc. This is a great time to begin building positive relationships for the year.

The G-R JH/HS School Counselor will host a Senior Parent Meeting to discuss college planning and scholarship opportunities. The meeting will be held in the JH/HS Auditorium at 6 p.m. on August 22, 2024 during Open House night.

The G-R JH/HS will host a 7th Grade Orientation on August 22, 2024 from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. Further information will be provided to parents after August 14 in regards to the format and transportation.

High School Internship Orientation Meeting will be held during Walk-In Registration on August 14, 2024 from noon to 2 p.m. for any high school students who are signed up, or who are interested in signing up, for an internship during the 2024-25 school year.

Bus route drivers will call route families after School Registration in mid August.
