GMG sent 14 events to the state contest. Those included Literary Program: Stephenie Claussen, Jadyn Hessenius; Storytelling: Kaci Krier; After Dinner Speaking: Frances Jackson; Spontaneous Speaking: Joaquin Fitzsimmons; Poetry: Jessica Johnson, Wyatt Jackson; Radio News: Maecyn Lewis; Prose: Chloe Wickham, Angel Schewe; Original Oratory: Kennadi Sederburg, Angel Schewe; Acting: Kaci Krier; Solo Musical Theater: Chloe Wickham, Taylor Tremaine.
The Wolverines qualified one performer for the all-state program. Kennadi Sederburg earned all-state honors for her original oratory titled “Scrapers and Mosquitoes”.
“I’m beyond proud of our team, especially in a year that was far from normal,” GMG speech coach Jaimie Gargas said. “There was a core group that kept each other going, and really helped them achieve a lot together.”
The Rebels meanwhile qualified three performers for the all-state program. Earning all-state honors for Gladbrook-Reinbeck were Maia McLean in Musical Theatre, Paul Brockett in Radio News and Paige Creswell in Prose.
