News from the Black Hawk Night Hawks

Our recent meeting was April 10th. Our roll call for this meeting was to say what our favorite omelet ingredients are when your name is called. Our next meeting will be held May 14th and we will probably be helping with the postal food drive.

Next, we talked about what we might want to do at Share the Fun at the Grundy County fair. Also, any members interested in baking should contact Glenda Billerbeck. Also, on May 7th there is a safe sitter course. Contact the extension office for more information. For a new project we Adopted a Garden in Reinbeck that we taking care of. We are considering what to do for our June meeting as a fun activity and we are thinking having something like a picnic. Last of all, our next meeting will be held before we go out and drive to get food for the postal food drive.

After our meeting, we made butterflies with coffee filters. The activity was led by the Brocketts and made a magnet butterfly that we could put on our fridge Next, Madison Resendez and Stella Heinzel did a presentation on the different breeds of chickens. We were then able to look at the baby chicks that Mrs. Fleshner had in her room that had just hatched.
