Rebel Football-G-R vs North Tama

TRAER – Gladbrook-Reinbeck handed North Tama its worst defeat in series history, clubbing the Redhawks 50-7 in Friday’s Class A District 4 clash. The sixth-ranked Rebels leaned on their line play, outgaining North Tama 494-39 in total offense. Eric Stoakes had 21 carries for 326 yards and all seven Gladbrook-Reinbeck touchdowns, while the host Redhawks had just two first downs. North Tama’s lone score was an 89-yard kickoff return for touchdown by Riley Rohach in the third quarter. Rohach also had an interception to spoil G-R’s opening possession deep in Redhawk territory. That was about the only time the Rebels (5-1, 3-0) were stopped. Stoakes had touchdown runs of 5, 58, 35, 4, 8, 20 and 44 yards to propel the team into next Friday’s district showdown with third-ranked AGWSR (6-0, 4-0) in Ackley. Kyle Isenhower had 13 yards rushing to lead North Tama (2-4, 1-3), while Cael Kopriva was 4-for-16 passing for 21 yards. Tony Weber had a fumble recovery for the Redhawk defense. It was North Tama’s worst loss since the 2013 season-opening, 48-0 defeat against Nashua-Plainfield at Wartburg College in Waverly.
