G-R Cross Country-By Coach Andy McQuillen

Comments: The 2012 Cross Country Season began Thursday at Eldora on a hot afternoon.  Due to the conditions, the races were shortened for the boys and girls.  The Rebels were led by Megan Oelschlager with a 12th place finish.  This was Megan’s first high school race and she competed very well against some strong runners.  Meg Edler and Rachel Bown also finished strong with 31st and 32nd place finishes.  On the boys side, Vasya Strohbehn finished 58th overall in his first action as a runner.  Cole Goos finished 71st overall.  Both of these young men are gaining experience and will improve throughout the course of the season. The boys and girls teams both competed well amid the conditions and set the bar to start the season.  Our goal will be to improve throughout the course of the season.  We need to get everyone healthy and hopefully we can put our best foot forward by the time conference and the state qualifying meet are here.
