What a fun and busy month and it also flew by just like all the rest of the months.

First of all I need to thank the Westview people, friends and relatives for all the goodies that have been shared with all of us these past few weeks. Everything has been absolutely delicious and what a good variety.

Several families celebrated Christmas here at Westview. The Boege’s on the 12th; Kern family on the 19th; Dorothy Akkerman family were here on the 24th; Ann Wieben’s family held theirs in Ann’s apartment and Lavina Rohach had some of her family at her apartment. On Christmas Day Marrietta Greve’s son came and ate dinner with her and some of Florence Schildroth’s family also came and enjoyed Christmas dinner with her and Don. With the weather the way it was it was the perfect place to be.

A big thank you to the Girl Scouts for the Christmas cards they made for everyone. Come and visit us again.

Boy we’ve had a good variety of music for entertainment this month. On the 14th Pastor Mike Campbell and Sheryl was to come but the weather was crazy so they came on the 21st. Pastor Mike played the keyboard and Sheryl played the flute and sang. We all sang with them when they played Christmas carols and Pastor Mike played some good polka music while I finished getting the coffee and treats ready. You are welcome to come back anytime. Thank you. The 17th was our Christmas party so at 5 p.m. I made supper for everyone and at 6 p.m. Dennis Perry came and played the guitar and sang for us. This was really a fun time after that we played the game of passing the Christmas presents around and when it was over you ended up with that gift. Everyone got to laughing so much so thanks to Connie Thede and Deb Wical for keeping everything going the right way. On the 18th Ruth Holst’s granddaughter, Kelly and her husband Puffer came and entertained us. Kelly sang and Puffer played the piano. They are both professional musicians so this was also awesome. Thank you.

We thought we would be busy enough this month so we didn’t have a Night on the Town.

We had carolers from the Lutheran Church and also from the Methodist Church. I hope I didn’t miss anyone so thank you for doing this for us.

Bunco was played on the 30th and a good crowd was out for this, but the sad news is that this would be Julie Versilas last day from LSB for doing this. We will certainly miss having her come and do this for us. So if anyone out there in the community likes to play Bunco or I should say knows how to play Bunco we just need someone to refresh our memory when we start. Please let me know.

Exercises are going good and we certainly need it after this month. Cards on Tuesday and Friday afternoons, we have some new people here that loves to play cards so anyone is welcome to come and join us.

We played bingo one afternoon and again on New Years Eve.

We started out at 5 p.m. on New Years Eve with pizza brought in from Gary & Marlys Karkosh and Marlys made brownies. Sharon Wambold made cheese cake with raspberry topping, also had a cheese, meat and cracker tray and 7-Up, root beer, wine, beer, sparkling water. After eating we played a few games of bingo, then we got out the hats and noise makers and as we sang auld lang syne, balloons fell from the balcony from the balcony as we raised our glasses for a toast to the New Year. What a blast and again thanks to everyone for everything.

On the 30th I took our employees out to the Texas Roadhouse for our Christmas party and that was a good choice by our high school girls that serve dinner on the week-ends.

The book club will meet on the 20th at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Guess I better sign off for this time but I want to thank everyone and especially our volunteers who so faithfully are always there when I need help.
