Rep. Dean Fisher Announces Bid for Re-Election to Iowa House
MONTOUR – On May 1, Representative Dean Fisher (R-Montour) announced his re-election bid for Iowa House District 53. House District 53 includes all of Poweshiek County and most of Tama County.
“It’s an honor to represent House District 53,” Fisher said. “We have made such great progress on lowering the tax burden on Iowans and stood firm in defending Iowans’ freedoms. I’m asking for another term to continue to be your voice in Des Moines and deliver on your priorities.”
Fisher was first elected to the Iowa House in 2012. He is a fifth-generation Iowa farmer and owns a Heritage Farm that has been in his family since 1852. In the Iowa House, Fisher serves as the chair of the Environmental Protection committee. He also serves on the Agriculture, Public Safety, and Natural Resources committees.
Speaker of the Iowa House Pat Grassley (R-New Hartford) expressed his support for Fisher.
“Representative Fisher works tirelessly to be a strong voice for his district in the Iowa House,” Grassley said. “He is a committed, hardworking legislator. I look forward to continuing to work with him in the Iowa House.”
Fisher is seeking his seventh term in the Iowa House. He resides on his Heritage Farm with his wife Vicki.
