McTabs for Kids by Anthony Knaack, Joshua Utterback, Avery Boyer, and Ayla Baer

The Ronald McDonald House is an organization that helps families that have children in the hospital. Their part in this is to give families an affordable place to stay that is close to the hospital. The sale of aluminum pop-tabs is one way money is earned for the Ronald McDonald House. Gladbrook-Reinbeck Elementary has collected pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House for five years. There are multiple places we have put our Buckets for McTabs for Kids: Lincoln Saving Banks in Waterloo, the library in Gladbrook, Tangle Salon in Marshalltown, the Reinbeck Public Library, and the Morris Inn Steak House. We would like you to participate to help these families in need,so please collect pop tabs and bring them to one of these locations. Enjoy these fun facts. Fun Facts! •The tab contains more aluminum than the can. One pound of aluminum makes about 30 soda cans. •We brought 72 pounds of pop tabs this summer to the Ronald McDonald House. •The pop tab was invented in 1974. •Aluminum does not rust. •recycling one aluminum can will save enough energy to run a TV for 3 hours.
