TOLEDO – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Tama County will host a Forest, Aquatic, and Right-of-Way Continuing Instruction Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators on Wednesday, Oct. 21. The program provided by the ISU Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) is available at office locations across Iowa.

The local attendance site is the ISU Extension and Outreach Tama County Office (203 W High St, Toledo). Preregistration may be required; walk-ins may not be guaranteed admission. This course starts at 9 a.m. Program run times may vary based on topics presented, please allow for up to three hours to complete the program.

The registration fee is $45 due on or before Oct. 14. To register or to obtain additional information about the CIC, contact Haley Princehouse at the ISU Extension and Outreach Tama County office at 641-484-2703.

The course will provide continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 2 (Forest Pest Control), 5 (Aquatic Pest Control), and 6 (Right-of-Way Pest Control). Topics to be covered will include personal protective equipment and safe handling; professionalism, storage of pesticides, including chemical security; and category-specific pests, pest management and pesticides.
