Kickbush leads Rebels past Tigers

REINBECK – Caden Kickbush tallied 22 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots to lead the Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys’ basketball team to its 51st-straight NICL West Division win, beating South Hardin 42-36 here Friday night.

Walker Thede chipped in with all of his 10 points in the second half, while Matt Johannsen added five points in this defensive battle. The Rebels (3-0, 3-0) scored the first five points of the fourth quarter to turn their eight-point lead into 13, but South Hardin finished with a 13-11 advantage in the final period.

Cade Spieker led the Tigers (2-3, 1-2) with 12 points, while Jacob Vander Wilt finished with nine points and Kevin Rewoldt had six. Garrison Tripp pitched in with five points off the bench.
