Gladbrook-Reinbeck high school student receives Iowa Bankers Association Student Athlete Achievement Award
JOHNSTON, IOWA Matthew Roeding, a senior at Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School, was recently honored as the 2016 recipient of the Iowa Bankers Association’s Student Athlete Achievement Scholarship Award during the Iowa high school state football championships Nov. 17-18 in Cedar Falls. This award recognizes a graduating senior student athlete for their academic performance, athletic participation, leadership skills and community involvement.
Mike Larson, Community President of NXT bank in Cedar Falls, presented Matthew with a $1,000 scholarship to the college of his choice.
“On behalf of the Iowa Bankers Association, I’m pleased to present Matt with this much-deserved award. He is to be commended for his athletic, academic and community accomplishments,” said Larson.
For more than two decades, the Iowa Bankers Association has sponsored the Student Athlete Achievement Scholarship Awards, which includes awards to student athletes in football, basketball and wrestling. The Iowa Bankers Association has awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships since the program began.
Matthew plans to attend a four year college and major in actuarial science and he is the son of Carl and Lisa Roeding of Reinbeck.
