Prom shopping

Every young girl’s biggest dream is finally here: prom. Most girls spend their whole high school career anticipating prom. They all want the same thing: the magical night, the perfect guy and, most importantly, the most beautiful dress. A lot of girls start dress shopping really early; some even buy their dresses the year before! Dress shopping can be a fun and stressful time for the girl because the dress has to be perfect and stunning. For Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School juniors and seniors, prom will be held on Saturday, April 23.

Sasha Nagle, a junior at G-R, has already bought the perfect dress from a family friend; now all she’s waiting for is the perfect guy. She said she bought her dress from a family friend and didn’t do any dress shopping at all.

Hayley Weber, who is a senior this year, has been kind of looking for dresses but not wholeheartedly. She’s still waiting for her boyfriend to ask her, “Hopefully in a cute way.” Last year, she went shopping with her mom and friends in-store and ended up purchasing her dress online at the store she was looking in.

For a male perspective, Jake Schuman could be considered the typical senior guy who says he will probably get a tux last minute. It is understandable, however, because he does not know whom he will ask to be his date yet, and since they need to coordinate, he would definitely need a date before his tux.

Nagle, Weber and Schuman all seemed pretty excited for prom to get here, and when I interviewed them, it sounded as if they had fun at prom in previous years.
